III. Transfer Policy
K. House Bill 66 (ORC 3333.16)
Part of the current legislation noted in H.B. 66 (ORC 3333.16) calls for a new articulation and transfer initiative. This is a collaborative effort among the Ohio Board of Regents, the Office of Career-Technical & Adult Education of the Ohio Department of Education, public secondary/adult career-technical education institutions, and state-assisted institutions of higher education to establish criteria, policies, and procedures whereby students will be able to transfer agreed upon and equivalent technical courses. This work is designed to further reduce institutional barriers and unnecessary duplication. This collaborative effort will focus on courses that adhere to recognized industry standards and are deemed equivalent and common to the aforementioned educational institutions.
Where applicable, the policies and procedures will build on the work already completed under ORC 3333.16 and the Transfer Assurance Guides (TAGs). The work of this initiative will not supersede any of the learning outcomes agreed upon in any of the approved TAGs.
This work is to be completed by April 15, 2007 and an interim progress report was due to the General Assembly by April 15, 2006.
