TAGs Guarantee More Than 3,700 Transferable Courses
More than 600 faculty members from Ohio’s two- and four-year public universities, and community and technical colleges have been working on a Herculean project as part of Ohio’s revised Articulation & Transfer Policy.
Their work, a peer review process to define and agree on course learning outcomes, match submitted courses against those outcomes, and review for equivalency, has resulted in the development of advisory tools called Transfer Assurance Guides (TAGs) that guarantee the transfer and application of more than 3,700 pre-major and beginning major courses. And that number continues to grow.
The TAGs build upon the Ohio Transfer Module, the foundation of Ohio’s Credit Transfer Policy, by adding pre-major courses in 38 of the most popular majors to the Transfer Module’s existing general education courses that are guaranteed to transfer and apply at other Ohio public institutions.
TAGs are available for
reference on line at regents.ohio.gov/transfer/tags so guidance
counselors, academic advisors, admissions personnel and others can
assist students in planning their courses of study with the knowledge
that the credits they work hard to earn will transfer.
TAG Benefits
- TAGs will increase student satisfaction by improving their ability to transfer a core of courses that will count toward specific degree programs.
- TAGs will improve students’ ability to progress toward degree requirements without duplication of effort and cost.
- TAGs will enable all students – native and transfer – to be treated equitably with regard to admissions requirements.
