Campus Safety and Security
Report to the Governor
Board of Regents Chancellor Eric Fingerhut submitted the Task Force on Ohio College Campus Safety and Security Report to Governor Ted Strickland August 30, 2007. This was in accordance with the Governor’s request that the Chancellor form a task force to review the current state of campus safety and security in Ohio in order to ensure that all Ohio college campuses are as safe and secure as possible. In particular, the Governor asked that the work of the task force involve reviewing best practices regarding campus safety and security and to consider how the state can play a role in assisting the presidents of more than 100 colleges and universities across Ohio. The report includes the task force findings.
Summit
The planning process for the 2008 summit is underway.
On August 1,2007, a statewide, day-long summit was convened at the Fawcett Center in Columbus, Ohio to provide an opportunity for all Ohio colleges and universities to share best practices regarding safety and security on their campuses. For further information please visit:
