Hayes Investment Fund
(Currently funds are not available for future competitions.)
The Hayes Investment Fund is used to make selective investments in university research infrastructure that position Ohio's research programs to become nationally and internationally prominent in targeted areas, and to support Ohio's industrial or community needs. The Hayes Investment Fund stimulates inter-university cooperation and the building of partnerships among university research programs and Ohio industry to create centers of research excellence.
The fund is used to award grants or interest-free loans for capital equipment and/or facilities. Grants are awarded only to qualifying inter-institutional research consortia. All other awards are made in the form of interest-free loans. Awardees are selected through peer-reviewed, statewide competitions. The most recent Investment Fund competition was completed in July 2003. The most recent RFP was released February 2003. Future competitions are contingent upon appropriations.
