There will be no need to apply these edits to empty fields. Institutions may submit record lines up to 167 columns or must submit record lines up to 327 columns. This rule was implemented so that institutions could continue to submit the original file specifications (167 columns) or utilize the new specifications (327) without making programming changes. | If there are no characters beyond column 167 of a particular record line, do not run the edits 1AP, 1AR or 1AT for any columns past column 167. |
