Re: Submission of Student Entrance (SE) Admission Areas and the Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG)
During a recent review of HEI Student Entrance (SE) data, a number of students had been incorrectly reported as undergraduates (UND Admission Area), when these students were actually high school students (HGH Admission Area). High school students who were misreported prior to Summer 2006 would be considered ineligible for OCOG. Additionally, this reporting error would impact an institution's graduation rates.
To aid campuses in identifying this issue, a new warning has been added to the Student Entrance file in the Primary Edits. Warning C44 will flag undergraduate student records where the student is 17 or younger as of the first year of enrollment. Data reporters should verify records flagged with this warning to ensure that the students are not high school students.
Institutions should contact HEI if they identify any students enrolled prior to Summer 2006 that have been misreported as undergraduate students. If you have further questions concerning this issue, please contact the HEI Enrollment team at 614.466.5045 or e-mail hei-enrollment@regents.state.oh.us .
