A: Electrical substations should be reported with an Area Type Code of Mechanical (030) and a Function Code of Non Assignable (00). Towers and transformers should not be considered for replacement cost purposes in the PS file, only the equipment that is housed inside the substation and buried directly beneath should be included for the purposes of replacement value.
Q: How should underground service tunnels be reported?
A: Underground service tunnels that connect two or more buildings should be divided equally amongst the buildings with an Area Type Code of Mechanical (030) and with a Function Code of Non Assignable (00).
