Graduate and Professional Admissions (GP) File

Data Submissions

File Description

The Graduate and Professional Admissions (GP) report contains a record for all students that applied, were admitted, or enrolled in a graduate or professional program between July 1 of the previous calendar year and June 30 of the current calendar year. Institutions need only supply data for those graduate programs that exist at their institution.

Submission Schedule

The Graduate and Professional Admissions (GP) report is an annual report submitted no later than October 31 of each year.

Additional Explanations

Institutions need only submit data for those Post Baccalaureate Schools or College that exist at their insitiutitions.

Definitions and Descriptions of Data Fields

Applications Received: Admission cases which progressed to the point of filing a completed application form, with fee paid if required.

Applicants Approved for Admission: Applicants actually offered admission to the institution.

New Admits Enrolled: Applicants approved for admission who actually enrolled.

New Admits Enrolled who held Baccalaureate as Highest Degree: Those New Admits Enrolled who held a baccalaureate as the highest degree at the time of admission. This does not include students granted conditional admission to graduate course registration in advance of earning a baccalaureate from the reporting university. Such students should appear only when full graduate status has been granted.

New Admits Enrolled who held Master's or other Graduate Degree as Highest Degree: Those New Admits Enrolled who held a Master's or other graduate degree as the highest degree at the time of admission. This does not include students who have earned one graduate degree from the reporting university and are pursuing another.
