Flexibly Scheduled Course Sections (FS) List

File Description

This list should contain one record for each flexibly scheduled course section offered during this term. All records in the Flexibly Scheduled Course Sections (FS) list must have a corresponding entry in the Course Enrollment (CN) file for the same term.

Submission Schedule

Once per term.

Capture Date

The Flexibly Scheduled Course Sections (FS) list should contain data for the entire term.

Relationship to Other File Submissions

The Flexibly Scheduled Course Sections (FS) list cannot be submitted until the Course Inventory (CI), Student Entrance (SE), Student Enrollment (SN), and Course Enrollment (CN) files have been submitted, edited with zero errors, and loaded onto the HEI database.

Reporting Term: Flexibly scheduled course sections should be reported for the term in which the student earned credit.

Census Date for Registration: For detail about the census point for flexibly scheduled courses, please see the census point information in the Course Enrollment (CN) file and the Recently Asked Questions for the Course Enrollment (CN) File.

Definitions and Descriptions of Data Fields

Flexibly Scheduled Course Sections: Flexibly scheduled course sections are all course sections not meeting during the institution's regular academic term as well as all course sections meeting during the regular academic term offered in a substantially different manner than a fixed number of meeting times per week for all weeks of the term. Please see the Recently Asked Questions page for the FS for guidelines about reporting flex courses.

 The following types of instruction should not be reported as flexibly scheduled:
