Statewide consultation is a forum where college and university representatives express opinions, offer advice, and help Regents staff identify data issues.

Pilot project is a small group of campus representatives making initial recommendations on file layouts and data definitions. In addition, participants test reporting mechanisms in real world environments. The experiences and recommendations of the pilot project participants are reported during the concluding statewide consultation.

Practice period gives all campus data reporters the opportunity to use HEI definitions and procedures before production reporting officially begins. In addition, data reporters help Regents staff fine-tune the system's design.

Data Submissions is the online user manual for campus data reporters.

Production reporting begins when colleges and universities submit data to HEI rather than UIS. The date shown in the timeline reflects the term for which the data are being collected and not necessarily the time when data reporters submit data.

In addition to the process listed here, there is a standing HEI Advisory Committee that provides advice and coordination for the entire project.

(The Financial Data Area is following a dual track development process. The first track is the development of files to capture institutional budget information. The second track is the development of files to capture year-end data based on actual financial data.)
