HEI Advisory Committee
Overview and Membership
Charge:
The Higher Education Information (HEI) Advisory Committee for the Ohio
Board of Regents (Regents) is charged with reviewing policy-level recommendations
made by HEI staff and initiate HEI policy recommendations to Regents. The
HEI Advisory Committee will convene if the HEI Director determines that
policy level issues warrant review and discussion. The HEI Director
may also use this group as a resource to communicate issues, collect
opinions and gather feedback.
Committee

1. Campus Members
(voting)
- Four (4) representatives
of the university sector are appointed without term limits by the
Inter-University Council (IUC)
- Four (4) representatives
of the two-year college sector are appointed without term limits
by the Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC)
- In the event that a
campus member can no longer serve on the Committee, the respective
organization (IUC, OACC) will determine a replacement.
- It is left to the discretion
of IUC and OACC to rotate membership among the institutions or maintain
membership from any one institution
2. Non-Campus
Members (non-voting)
When necessary,
staff from the following organizations may participate in activities
of HEI Advisory Committee:
- Inter-University Council
(IUC)
- Ohio Association of
Community Colleges (OACC)
- Association of Independent
Colleges and Universities (AICUO)
- Legislative Office
of Education Oversight (LOEO)
- Ohio Board of Regents
(Regents)
Officers
- A Chair of the HEI
Advisory Committee will be selected from the campus members of the
committee and will serve for a minimum of 2 years
- The Chair and HEI
Director will facilitate policy issue discussion via email or meetings.
Meeting
Schedule
- The Committee will
meet at the call of the HEI Director. The HEI Director shall determine
the location of the meeting. The HEI Director may also use this
Committee to communicate policy issues and solicit input from institutions.
Sub-Committees
- Sub-committees may
be formed with committee or non-committee members and will meet
as necessary
