Higher Education Information System (HEI)
Welcome
Mission and purpose
"The mission of Information Systems and Research at the Ohio Board of Regents is to provide quality information and related services essential to higher education in Ohio through effective communication, constant technical and process innovation, continuous staff development, and frequent collaboration with stakeholders."
The Higher Education Information (HEI) system contains data supplied by Ohio's colleges and universities. It is a comprehensive relational database that includes data on students, courses, faculty, facilities, and finances.
Data submission
Ohio's institutions use our Data Input Site to submit files based on their File Submission Schedule. Before campus representatives can submit data they are required to sign a Data Access Policy, binding them to a strict confidentiality agreement. Once all of the institutions' data is received, we compile and output it in restricted and public forms through our Queries and Reports.
We facilitate the data submissions by providing several kinds of assistance to the campus representatives, such as General Information, Presentations and Conferences, and Training Videos. The representatives can also access our Report and Process Calendar to find out when we run reports and processes. The Verification Tables are a reference tool used to research data submissions' codes.
