Overview
The State of Ohio, through the office of the Ohio Board of Regents, has officially contracted with EmployOn to provide one of their products, Labor Insight, to pre-approved state agencies. These agencies and entities include local, regional or state government funded higher education institutions, workforce investment boards and/or state economic development agencies within the State of Ohio.
Labor Insight is an on-line application that allows users to analyze, trend, and compare aggregated jobs data in a real-time basis. This information can be used to quickly determine emerging opportunities and hot occupations, as well as declining industries within a particular region and maximize state workforce investment dollars.
A small sampling of uses for Labor Insight's real-time data (from national and local sources) would be:
- Allows economic development departments to identify and create the appropriate talent pool within the state to attract new businesses and drive economic development.
- Names the employers that are actively seeking workers – great for outplacement
- Identifies in-demand occupations – match graduates with employers quickly
- Provides the ability to trend "hot jobs" as well as declining industries
- Helps detect employers that may be downsizing
- Compares a region's hiring trends to other regions, nationally and locally
- Allows higher education systems to make better curriculum decisions
Registration
The Board of Regents created a registration form to make it convenient for you to access the information on the Employon Web site.
